In recent years, the shipbuilding sector has proved to be seminal regarding robot applications. Whether luxury cruiser or container ship: igm robots are used everywhere - up to ten robots weld simultaneously within an installation. igm did pioneer work with the application for the first time of a laser technique for section manufacturing. Programs are generated off-line based on 3D CAD data using off-line programming systems, resulting in tremendous time saving and high-quality output.
