Automatic quality welding at the Bavarian facilities of Jungheinrich for safe fork lift operation.

igm welding robots manufacture core components for fork lifts, storage- and system vehicles at the Bavarian manufacturing facilities of the Hamburg Jungheinrich AG.

At the main factory in Moosburg counterbalance fork-lift trucks are produced, while in the Moosburg industrial area “Degernpoint” system devices for internal logistic processes are manufactured. Degernpoint, which is barely four years young, counts to the latest state of the art facilities for storage- and system vehicles.

Since more than 30 years igm has been delivering robot cells to Jungheinrich AG. Currently there are operating 22 single robot systems in the main factory in Moosburg and 11 robots in Degernpoint.

To the end of last year (beginning of 2017), three new igm robot cells had been installed to keep the factories up-to-date on the newest robot technology. These robots are working with up to 14 axes (robot axis + periphery axis) to guarantee an optimal access of the welding torches. Furthermore, the welding time has been reduced significantly by equipping several robots with the new torch exchange system, which leads to an up to 70% faster welding process by using the Twin welding process.
