igm torch exchange system (BWS)

igm torch exchange system

With the automatically torch exchange system (BWS) it is possible to use several torch bodies within one program cycle. Various shapes of the torch bodies and wire characteristics gives the ability to adapt on different welding joints.

Initially the first torch gets stored and fastened in the stationary rack. Before the second torch will be picked up, the cleaning of the magnetic coupling is done by blowing out surplus water by use of an air pressure jet.

During the changing sequence only the torch bodies are replaced. This means only one hose-package is required, which leads to a higher flexibility of the robot. Furthermore, torches for the single wire process as well as the twin process could be mounted to expand the possibilities of welding within one program cycle.

Features of the BWS-System:

  • Disconnection of torch body and hose-package
  • Only one hose-package
    • Full agility
    • Less maintenance effort
  • Automatically TCP-correction
  • Minimization of the changing time
  • Single- and Twin process
