The goal of this Children's Day was to inspire the students to take an interest in the construction industry.
After a joint breakfast, the program began with a factory tour led by production manager Giso Gewalt. The welding robot especially captivated the young visitors, leading to numerous questions about its innovative technology. Afterwards, the children could demonstrate their skills at various play stations, such as throwing exercises or an obstacle course. Four dedicated trainees took care of the organization and assisted the students.
A highlight of the day was the large construction machines. The young construction enthusiasts were allowed to sit in a wheel loader and a hydraulic excavator and, with supervision, perform minimal driving exercises. At the end of the day, they competed in a tug-of-war against the trainees, proving their team spirit as a class. Finally, the tug-of-war against a wheel loader caused much laughter and was celebrated by the children as a great success.
The combination of play, fun, and technical education made the outing a special experience that will be remembered by both the children and the Bauer team for a long time. This extraordinary day demonstrates the importance of sparking interest and enthusiasm for technical professions at an early age.
