Task:

Upgrade of robot system 101449 / 100946 from K5 to K6.

Technical data of the welding robot system:

2 single welding robots, 6 axes, small wrist joint, working radius 1.500 mm, type RTE 456-S, 10 kg nominal load

The system was relocated within production hall 11 and upgraded to K6 standard when it was rebuilt. The objective and background was the conversion to the Fronius power source generation TPS500i and the upgrade to the igm K6 control system. Due to the system configuration, the Machinery Directive No. 2006/42/EC was applied and thus the enclosure and safety devices were brought up to standard. The professional setup with the original dimensions ensured that the previous programmes could be taken over with little time and corrections, which favoured a quick resumption of production and thus a low downtime.
