In June 2020 igm Robotersysteme AG installed a new welding robot system in the factory in Stalowa Wola, Poland. It consists of a 5m - TLA3 sliding system with an l-shaped manipulator with a payload of 7.000 kg. The robot is welding rear and gear frames for bulldozers of which the company produces 1000 units per year.
The accessibility of the seams on the inner walls of the workpiece with an opening of only 520 mm were the critical tasks for the igm engineers, not only in programming but also in designing the robot and workpiece periphery.
The result is a highly flexible and compact welding cell, which helps Dressta rising up the production figures as well as the quality of welding of the rear and gear frames.
Furthermore, igm uses the iCAM camera system for adaptive welding multilayer seams. The installed remote access system allows igm technicians to perform service tasks without being on-site (#we-adapt-to-COVID-19).
