igm robots are welding in Doka’s first production site outside the EU!

Doka is an Austrian world leader in developing, manufacturing and distributing formwork technology for use in all fields of the construction sector. With more than 160 sales and logistic facilities in over 70 countries, Doka has a highly efficient distribution network which ensures that equipment and technical support are provided swiftly and professionally.

The formwork company, a branch of the Umdasch Group AG, has opened its first formwork plant in Russia’s Lipetsk Special Economic Zone (SEZ) 400 km south-east of Moscow. The new corporate branch in Lipetsk will be the first production site of the Austrian concern outside the European Union.

Open days at our customer SBS Kft. in Hungary

Our customer, SBS Kft. In Hungary, organized open doors for customers, suppliers and interested visitors from 12th to 14th November 2019. SBS Kft. processes and welds components for many well-known agricultural, construction and mining equipment manufacturers. We thank you again for the invitation and are proud that several igm systems have been integrated in the production hall of SBS Kft. A total of 3 igm welding robot systems and 1 igm iBS beveling and chamfering machine are now working for SBS Kft. We wish further successful business and good support from the igm robot colleagues.

Since 1983 igm robotic welding and cutting systems have been sold and distributed within the US and Canadian marketplace. igm has a well proven track record, supplying and servicing major customers with over 100 producing robots and over 50 active customers in the US and Canadian market. Starting from November 1st 2019, igm Robotic Systems, Inc. will shift its sales and service activities to PTR – Precision Technologies, Inc.
PTR is a member of the igm group and this step is made to utilize synergies in local in-house manufacturing resources, advanced in-house warehousing and the advantages of the larger facilities of our sister company PTR – Precision Technologies, Inc.

CJSC Stadler Minsk is a Belarusian rolling stock manufacturing company and is part of Stadler. The company has been building vehicles since 2014 and has a workforce of over 1100 people at the production space of 35 000 m2. Within the group Stadler Minsk is responsible for production of the vehicles for the CIS broad-gauge countries. The company develops and manufactures urban and suburban, intercity and interregional trains, metro trains and trams, and also provides warranty and after-warranty service for the delivered rolling stock. For several years, about 121 million euros have been invested in this Belarusian enterprise.

Festive commissioning of the igm welding robot system at Siemens Mobility in Graz, Austria

On June 4, 2019 the commissioning of a unique igm welding robot system took place in Graz. Many representatives of politics, economics and the press took part in the event. Siemens Mobility prepared a wonderful setting to talk about technology and presented together with igm Robotersysteme AG the "most modern frame welding system in the industry". This project sets new standards and quality levels in the area of production process digitalization and man-machine interfaces.

Robot-assisted cleaning of subway sets at Wiener Linien

The order was placed in 2017 at igm Robotersysteme AG to replace the first plant at the operation station “Wasserleitungswiese” of Wiener Linien, which has been in operation since 1988. At that time, two longitudinal carriages were implemented on each side for cleaning a single set (double railcar) of the Viennese subway of type U. The new igm robot installation is also suitable for type V (a continuous permanently coupled six-carriage train, divided into 3 parts for cleaning) and consists of one longitudinal carriage way on each side in a special slim design with a travel distance of 27 m. In addition, there is the 2-stage dust exhaust system as well as light barriers and doors with safety limit switches for access protection.
