world’s largest welding and cutting fair.

One of the largest igm robot plants in Hungary was inaugurated at the SBS Kft. site in Erdőtelek. The Hungarian manufacturer of metal constructions produces various components for the world's leading machine manufacturers.

After two years of numerous upheavals, the epidemic situation beginning to return to normal. We are happy that our production is running at full speed and that we are delivering our plants to customers all over the world.

The Hungarian Railway Vehicle Welding Coordination Committee (HRVWCC) held its meeting of the second half of 2022 at the production plant of igm Robotersysteme AG in Győr (Hungary).

This year's fair highlight, Euroblech 2022, is over again and was a complete success. The crowd of visitors at our stand was unbroken for the full four days.

We are very pleased to welcome you to our stand no 39 at the International Congress Center Katowice.

At the fair, igm shows a compact welding robot cell, consisting of a 7-axes welding robot type RTE 479 mounted in hanging position on a rotating arm. A C-frame manipulator is integrated in the machine base. Despite the reduced footprint of the robot system, workpieces weighing up to 1,000 kg can be picked up.

Lottero Giovanni s.n.c. (Italy) is a long-standing igm customer and has a total of 3 igm robot systems in operation in its production hall. The oldest igm robot system was already put into operation in 1991 and still reliably welds various components in production today.

At Lottero Giovanni, the third generation is already working in the steel industry; their grandfather and company founder was an agricultural blacksmith. Over the years, the company has modernised through the purchase of various machines that make it competitive on the market.

Workpieces up to 2 m long and 500 kg are processed on a compact igm robot system with Tandem high-performance welding. The 2-station operation ensures a continuous work flow.

The newly developed, wireless handheld teach pendant K6 WIRELESS WiFi, simplifies the programming of the igm robot considerably, as no cable connection between the teach pendant and the control cabinet is necessary. All control data and all safety-relevant signals are transmitted via WiFi.

The robot programmes are generated automatically and part-specifically on the basis of a data table.

As an important component of the bogie of rail vehicles, the production process of side and cross members is complex and process control is strict. The bogie not only is a key component of vehicle bearing and transmission, but also an important guarantee for the safe operation of the vehicle. Most structures are welded from steel plates, which requires a lot of grinding to deal with residual stresses after welding and places high demands on the accuracy of the components.
